Living in my NOW By Michelle Small

More and more we are learning who we are.  Not so much in the self-conscious descriptions of our youth or the labels of our early adult years, but more in the way we are simply at peace with ourselves.
Is this the fullness of time?  The set time?  The appointed time?  The time of life?  Or maybe we should just embrace all of these times and call it “Now”.
In “Now” it is where we are to take stock of our life and we realize how much we have changed.
We pick it up, examine it then we realize…we are softer, gentler, wiser, and calmer than before. In our "Now" we are becoming more fully and completely who we were created to be!
We have now moved from “successes to significance”. I believe it is in our "Now", God wants to redeem all of the broken heels, chipped nails, dead-end jobs, broken marriages, less-than perfect children, bad perms. He needed us to get those things out of the way. Yes, He was with us back then, but He really wants to be with us in our "Now".
It is the challenge of releasing our past that may be the greatest challenge we face in embracing our "Now". We want to hold on to so many of the good things – our looks, our energy and our roles that once defined us. But we also tend to hold on to the bad as well – the insults, betrayals, criticisms and the injustices.
It is in "Now" that we will fully see ourselves! Because it is in our "Now" that the Glory, the fullness of God abides. This means the best place to resolve or heal the hurts, disappointments, fears and traumas of the past, is in the moment called "Now".
I love this idea, don't you! The idea that we can turn our backs on some of those identities from the past in order to move toward something more authentic in the "Now". And it’s not so much that we are losing our identities, but rather that we are no longer embracing false identities!
It is in this moment called "Now" we find the willingness to embrace and be defined by a holy calling rather than the opinions of others.
My prayer is that more and more women will embrace their "Now" in a way that is not only personally life-changing but powerfully world-changing.
Courage to live in your Now!
