Are You That Boss Lady? by Dr. Jena L. Bell

The Boss Lady, she has come to know who she is and what she wants. She has become the very change that she desires. With every glance in the mirror, she sees the woman who overcame and continues to become the best of who she is destined to be. She has declared she shall wait no more to be recognized, no longer hold back her brilliance and fully embraces her power to make bold steps, even when scared.

Are you that Boss Lady?

It’s a reality check to each boss lady to check the stories you tell yourself and to be in alignment with that which you seek to be. Maybe you consider yourself to be true, authentic Boss Lady, but at times feel like an imposter. Everything that you want has not materialized. The business is not where you want it to be. Do you ever feel like giving up? Let’s face, it’s time for real talk. In the life of an entrepreneur the road can be tough, but what you come to learn about yourself is you are tougher. While these are real emotions and pare for the course, the essence of who you are, is not lost. You are who we are because of who you have become. Most entrepreneurs won’t discuss the challenges for fear of vulnerability, but the reality is, this is the reality. The road to financial success and independence is wrought with trials along with the successes. In my own journey there have been wins, losses, victories, and defeat. But with every effort, with every step I take, I get closer and closer to where I desire to be. What I have come to learn, is that the yardstick continues to move, by choice. The ideas continue to emerge, the goals get bigger because the vision gets clearer and my willingness to push farther gets stronger.

What keeps you grounded and inspired along the way? It’s important to stay the course on the journey because entrepreneurship is one of the key pillars to building wealth. The Boss Lady, must step boldly to build a sustainable, economic blueprint.

To stay the course, here are my top 6 go to strategies:

1) Don’t Give Up: In times of stress, destress, step back, reposition and continue pushing forward.

2) Take Care of Your Health: Your Health is your wealth. Without it, the financial returns will be far less valuable.

3) Have a Plan: Planning charts a path to where you want to go and reassess when needed.

4) Have a Cut-off Time: The conventional wisdom says go 24/7. But in reality, it”s not sustainable over time. Plan for downtime.

5) There are No Failures: When things don’t go as plan, devise a new plan.

6) Seek Help: The bigger the vision, the more people you will need. You will burn out trying to doing it all.
