Dr. Catrise Austin is a trailblazing expert in the field of dentistry. She is the author of a new book “5 Steps to the Hollywood A-List Smile”, professional speaker, entrepreneur, and founder of VIP Smiles-a modern dental practice in New York City and now also Los Angeles California.

Best known as the “Dentist to the Stars”, celebrities such as Former American Idol Judge Paula Abdul; Actor Anthony Anderson; Actor Malik Yoba; Dancing With The Star’s dancer Karina Smirnoff; Apprentice Diva Omarosa; America’s Next Top Model winner Eva Marcille; HBO’s Entourage Actor Rex Lee; Songstress Toni Braxton; TV talk show host Wendy Williams; and Grammy Award-winning rapper and actor Common (to name only a few) have all placed their teeth in her capable hands. Dr. Austin is on the first to offer on-site and mobile dentistry services tailored to the needs of entertainers, runway models, and professional athletes. Licensed in New York and California, Dr. Austin is able to work on both coasts providing cosmetic dentistry services backstage, at entertainment studios, and on photo shoots. Combining technology, mobility, and first-class care, celebrity dentist Dr. Catrise Austin provides the most innovative luxury dental service to her VIP clients.

But beyond the celebrated elite, Dr. Austin’s true goal is to empower and educate ALL about the importance of dental health as she believes that the benefits of dentistry can not only make you look and feel better, but now studies show that it can help save your life and live longer. In 2009,
Dr. Austin became the first private dental practice in the nation certified and trained to offer oral fluid HIV testing, which can be administered as a screening test during regular dental exams.  Most people wouldn’t think of it – but with rapid oral fluid testing technology now offering patients results in just 20 minutes— and recommended twice annual dental visits — the private dental office makes a very logical and innovative location to offer testing.  Dr. Austin has successfully incorporated HIV testing in her dental practice this year, offering this new service to ALL of her patients despite their age, race, gender, and marital status.  Dr. Austin would tell you that her patients have been very receptive to this new service and that she is testing patients for HIV that would not have ordinarily sought HIV testing.

Dr. Catrise Austin is an award-winning dentist and columnist who has solidified her reputation in her field with national radio as well as national TV appearances on The Today Show, Discovery Health Channel and Good Morning America, among others. Dr. Austin is available for local and national interviews, as well as speaking engagements on dental health, HIV testing in the dental office, entrepreneurship, careers in dentistry, and improving your image with your smile. We Are Inspired By This BOSS: Cathleen Trig-Jones

CATHLEEN TRIGG-JONES
Anchor/Reporter/Actress/Producer

From the age of seven, EMMY Award-winning Journalist Cathleen Trigg-Jones knew she would one day be gracing the screen of television.  As a young girl growing up in Dover, Delaware she dreamed of being a movie star or host of her own talk show. As fate and years of hard work would have it, Cathleen did eventually make her dream come true.

Cathleen is probably best known for her work as an Anchor and Reporter at UPN 9, (now MY 9 News) in New York, where she spent seven years establishing herself as one of the most versatile and well respected journalists in the #1 TV market.  Although Cathleen could commonly be seen on the red carpet of movie premiers and at exclusive parties interviewing countless celebrities, Cathleen made her true mark putting on a more serious hat and tackling such hard hitting investigative stories as "Aids in the Church" and "Modern Day Slavery".  In fact, it was her series of reports exposing these two issues that won Cathleen two 2002 Emmy nominations for outstanding reporting.  But it is her 2003 Emmy Award for best educational reporting that she is most proud of.

Cathleen’s on-air career spans more than a decade and covers everything from television to radio and even film.  She has served as a reporter and anchor on TV and radio stations in various markets including Norfolk, Richmond, Salisbury, Dover, Milford and New York City, where she could be seen on the air at CBS, ABC, UPN and FOX affiliates.

More recently, Cathleen has appeared on the big and small screen where she has been cast in roles such as Mary Ilene Casilotti, a reporter in the Disney movie “Enchanted,” a CNN Anchorwoman in the ABC series “Six Degrees”, and a reporter in “Dirty, Sexy Money,” as she balances her career between acting, producing and on-air hosting.

It was these experiences that fueled Cathleen’s desire to create and produce her own TV and Film projects. In 2002, She founded CatScape Productions, a multi-media production company dedicated to creating and producing award winning films, documentaries, commercials, music videos and original TV programming.  In fact, Cathleen is the Executive Producer for “Uptown Girls,” a sexy new series where “Sex and the City” meets “Soul Food” in this hour-long dramedy based on the lives of five real sisters from Harlem.

A Graduate of Delaware State University in her hometown of Dover, Delaware, Cathleen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in 1992.  She has been named Alumnae of the Year twice by the University's Mass Communication's Society and was recognized as one of the University's most successful graduates.

Cathleen is a member of SAG, AFTRA, The New York and National Association of Black Journalists and Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority. She is also very active in several church and charitable organizations. She serves on the board of AHEAD, a non-profit organization that provides educational, health and agricultural resources to underserved communities around the world, and served as co-chair of NYSAVES, a non-profit organization that provides emergency veterinary services to pets of low-income families.
