BOSS Member Spotlight: Geraldine Glass

Geri Glass, entrepreneur, and President of Flourished Life, specializes in life and wellness coaching, emphasizing grace-centered self-worth and healthy relationships. As an experienced business consultant, she advises organizations in healthcare, technology, and organizational change, committed to improving health outcomes through technology.

What were some obstacles that you faced in the beginning process of starting your business or career?
I grappled with overwhelming possibilities as a big thinker, compounded by imposter syndrome casting doubt on my abilities, including a lack of mentorship.

What inspired you to break into your industry?
Growing up, my father's dedication to his health positively impacted his longevity, while my brothers and I now serve as advocates for our 89-year-old mother. Recognizing not everyone has the support or knowledge to lead a fulfilling life, especially in communities of color, I am driven to challenge systemic barriers and empower individuals to prioritize their health and well-being. While maintaining a corporate role, I aim to influence wellness through technology, carrying a profound commitment to change health outcomes.

How do you balance your personal and professional life, or have you found a balance?
I prioritize prayer and scripture, along with "Pampering Me Days" for self-care. Family time is non-negotiable, nurturing connections and love that energize me.

What is an inspirational quote that you live by?
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. President Barack Obama

Who were influential people or mentors who helped or encouraged you?
Countless educators, and my first supervisor who became a mentor and great friend.
Her self-awareness, love for communities of color, intelligence, and faith inspired me to want to be different and have influence.

What are your "must-haves" to keep your career or business strong?
My “must-haves” are community impact, which is essential, and authentic relationships and trusted partners.

What is your definition of a BOSS?
A BOSS is a deliberate leader committed to fulfilling their life's purpose with excellence, empowering individuals and communities, and overcoming obstacles. They recognize the importance of building generational wealth and ensuring a legacy of prosperity for future generations.
