We Are Inspired By This BOSS: Jovita Moore

She joined WSB-TV in 1998. She has served as anchor for the weekend evening news, but moved to daily news stories in March, 2005. She earned a Master's Degree in Journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and she also received her Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Literature, from Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont. Jovita is a past member of the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists. She is currently an active member of the Junior League of Atlanta and a former member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA of greater Atlanta.
She is committed to helping communities around the Atlanta area and she donates her time speaking to school groups, hosting events for the community, and mentoring students. Jovita also runs a non-profit youth organization called Live to Prosper.[citation needed] In 2001, she was awarded one of the highest honors in television news when she received an Emmy for her Outstanding Medical Reporting for her two part series, \"Women and Fibroids\". The series was awarded Best Hard Feature by the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists.
