BOSS Spotlight Member: Reni Somoye

Reni Somoye is a freelance publicist, marketing consultant and journalist with a B.A. in Communications from Rutgers University (with concentrations in Leadership and Africana Studies). Her passion to create and drive movements fuel her drive to be hard at work producing events, crafting stories and build connections.

Over the years she has worked with fashion designer Norma Kamali, HOT97 FM, EA SPORTS and the National Basketball Association, among other partners whom she has assisted to elevate their visibility and drive profitability in the marketplace. Her experience includes radio, print, brand experiences and in-house public relations.

Currently, she is the U.S. contributor for the This Day Style, an African based publication, which chronicles style for the discerning female consumer whom is looking for global cues in her pursuit to exude her best sense of style. Furthermore, she is actively involved in the community and also serves as the youngest member of the national governing board for her sorority - Mu Sigma Upsilon, the first multicultural sorority in the nation - as the National Officer of Public Relations.

Reni prides herself on her ability to quickly acclimate and be an integral contributor to any project she works on. It is her nature to go above and beyond expectations. The reward for each project she works on is being able to successfully complete it and gain valuable experience, contacts and accolades which all help bring her a few steps closer to the actualization of her dreams. Her future aspirations are vast and include, of course, becoming the BOSS of her own company dealing with production, public relations and digital magazines. For now, she continues to work diligently and "climb up the ladder", while carving out her own lane as she goes along.

Reni is currently open to discussions on freelance and/or long-term opportunities, along with partnerships, in the realms of public relations, events and publishing. For inquiries please contact Reni at Reni.Somoye@gmail.com.
