Homemade Beauty Secrets By Essence Go
For all of you that know me
know that I’m the makeup counter and drugstore Queen. I have it all! Eye
creams, makeup removers, body scrubs, toners, lip balms, you name it, I have it.
So every now and then I feel like,
"I could have made that" especially now that most companies are
going all natural with their ingredients. I've started to read some of the ingredients that are in the products I use and most, if not all I have right here at
home!
Here is my go to favorites and how to build on the things I've created!
Homemade Eye Cream
Ingredients:
1. 1/2 cup organic
extra virgin coconut oil
4. Pin to poke hole in the capsules
5. Small container(s)
Put the coconut oil into a small bowl and microwave for 15
seconds. That’s all it takes get it to liquid form. (Or you can heat in a small
saucepan over low heat for a few minutes.)
Pour the liquefied oil into the containers you are using. I decided to use a
variety of containers:- A contact lens case for throwing into my makeup bag when traveling
- A lip balm container for my purse
- A small mason jar for my bathroom
Mixing:
(Contact lens case) I
added enough oil to almost fill it, poked the end of ONE capsule of Vitamin E
oil and added the contents of it, and 1-2 drops of Lavender essential oil. (Repeat
for other side of case).
(Lip balm container)
I added enough oil to almost fill it, added the contents of TWO Vitamin E
capsules and 3-4 drops of Lavender essential oil.
(Small Mason jar) I added enough oil to fill about three-fourths
full, emptied 6 capsules of Vitamin E in the jar, and finally added 6-7 drops
of Lavender essential oil.
Place the filled containers in the refrigerator for a little
while (less than an hour) until the liquid returns to solid form, and it’s
ready to use!
Use at
night to remove eye makeup and as a moisturizing eye cream!
Citrus Bliss Sugar
Scrub
Here is what you will need:
Almond Oil or Coconut Oil
(or oil of your choice)
White Granulated Sugar
Shredded Bar of Soap
An Essential Oil (I used Aura Cacia’s Citrus)
Mixing Bowl
Spoon
Microwave and possibly a double boiler
A mold or a scoop
This
recipe calls for 1 part oil, 2 parts shredded soap, and 3 parts sugar.
Sugar Scrub Cubes:
1/2 cup Shredded Soap
3-4 drops of Essential Oil
1 cup
Sugar
1.
Pour the oil into a bowl and add the shredded soap of your choice.
Microwave this on high for 10 second intervals stirring in between each.
If this does not work to slowly melt your soap into your oil you may have to
melt the soap shaving in a double boiler. (If you don’t have a double
boiler, simply place a small bowl over a saucepan filled with boiling water).
2.
When the mixture is melted and stirred together, add several drops of your
Essential Oil. I used Aura Cacia’s Citrus Bliss.
3.
Get your mold ready to go before adding the sugar. This is important
because once the sugar is added the scrub will harden VERY quickly.
4.
Pour in sugar and stir quickly. Take mixture and place it into your molds
with your fingers. Or…if you don’t have a mold you can take a scoop and
make rounded sugar “cubes”.
5.
Let cubes harden by popping them into the freezer for at least 30
minutes. Then pop them out of the mold and cut them into fourths
depending on the size you would like them to be.
Sugar scrubs
smell amazing and gently exfoliate your skin for a smooth feeling. The
fun thing about these sugar scrub cubes is that they also have a fun “cleaning”
element with the addition of the soap. And the citrus bliss smells
amazing and has some relaxation and calming benefits. This sugar scrub was

Lash Growth
Wash an old mascara or nail polish container and fill with:
1/4 of the container with Castor Oil
1/2 Vitamin E Oil, 1/4 Aloe Vera Gel
Mix the concoction together as well as you can with your
mascara wand, and apply a light layer to lashes (or brows) every night before
bed. Castor oil thickens your lashes while Aloe Vera gel lengthens. Vitamin E
accelerates length. After one month, you’ll notice stronger, longer, more
beautiful eyelashes.
Lip Exfoliating Scrub
Mix sugar, coconut oil, and vanilla essential oil in a
small container and there you have it. Easy Right?
Anti-Wrinkle
Face Mask
Anti-Wrinkle Face Mask Recipe:
Banana
Honey
Yogurt
Egg yolk
Coconut oil
This simple, easy-to-make anti-wrinkle facial mask
contains a high amount of anti-aging and moisturizing nutrients.
