Mitzi Miller joined the Johnson Publishing Company as the Editor-In-Chief of JET magazine in May 2011. An award-winning journalist, Miller is the bestselling author of five books. Recognized nationally in 2013’s The Root 100 list and Crain’s Chicago Business Magazine’s 2011 40 Under 40, the New York native also has extensive television experience including appearances on VH1’s humorous list shows, as well as ABC’s top-rated morning show, Good Morning America, BET and The Food Network.
An experienced editor, most recently, Miller served as Editor-In-Chief of the independent athletic lifestyle publication, SET Magazine. Prior to SET, Miller was an Associate Relationship Editor for JANE Magazine. There, in addition to her monthly “Sex, Sex, Sex” column, she frequently contributed celebrity features and quirky, girly stories to the magazine’s entertainment section, including “Mitzi Lives Like A Privileged White Woman For A Week” and “How To Date 8 Guys At Once,” which received a favorable write-up in The Washington Post.
Before her staff position at JANE, the New York native worked at HONEY Magazine, where she started her career in 2001 as an unpaid intern before quickly becoming the girl-around-town columnist for the magazine’s popular monthly feature, “Road Trippin’.” Readers quickly grew addicted to her many zany, fun-filled adventures. Miller remained at HONEY for two years, during which she became the Entertainment Editor, received an honorable mention from the National Association of Black Journalists and, ultimately, became the face of HONEY.
Miller is a skilled public speaker who has appeared regularly on several nationally syndicated radio talk shows including The Carl Nelson Show, and delivered the keynote address at various events and seminars nationwide including the 2011 Florida A&M University Homecoming Convocation, the 2012 National Black MBA Association annual conference and the 2013 Sears/Kmart Black History Month Event. She sits on the Board of Directors for Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Miller currently resides in Chicago, IL.
