The Power Of Cross Promotion By V. Taybron

Have you ever heard the saying, “two is better than one?” Of course you have and it is the truth. When it comes to business people are always looking for ways to market their concepts, products, and services. Sometimes we spend so much time thinking about how to market these ideas that we never start marketing them at all. Technology is our friend. In today’s world it has never been easier to get your name out there and summon the assistance of complete strangers to assist you in building your dream. You can cross promote. Cross promotion is basically the mindset of, “if you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours.” This can easily be used in business. If you are ready to take your business to the next level without putting up any money, then utilize these steps to begin launching immediately.

#1. Blog the Check!

Never underestimate the power of an email or blog. One email to the right person can change your life. First you have to know that there is value in what you offer. I do this all the time with companies and it turns into financial profit. I’m going to give you my expert secrets so you can replicate it. I own www.SaVorV.com which specializes in organic and vegan desserts. Therefore, I make it my business to seek out companies that have organic products. I do this because they most likely have customers who are living an organic lifestyle by the foods they eat, places they shop, and clothes they wear. Most of my clients are women. I was thinking of ways to market to men because they eat desserts too. I found a company called Iconic Beard from my hometown of California. They specialize in organic beard care products for men. Their products are organic, have never been tested on animals, and helps men maintain those gorgeous beards that we swoon over.  It’s a phenomenal company. Their business is online just like mine so I knew I could easily contact them via email and get a response. There are numerous small businesses that sell online that already have clients. In business you have to be strategic. You have customers and they have customers. If you work together these people can become customers for the BOTH of you. I simply wrote a blog about the company on my website. I then mentioned them in my newsletter that went out to over 500 people. All businesses appreciate this because it is free promotion for them and they like to be featured. Most business owners want to tell the world that they've been featured. Wouldn't you want the world to know? Therefore they go on twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to tell all of their followers how appreciative they are that YOU wrote this wonderful article about their business. Now their followers know who you are and most likely will become your clients as well. It’s smart and it works now all of you know about www.iconicbeard.com for men. See? It’s that easy.

#2. Post Baby, Post

Do we even bother watching the news anymore? Most of us do not because if you refresh your timeline…there it is. You now know who said what, who did what to whom, and the latest in new products. As a business owner you can use this to your advantage with other businesses. You can re-post their products. Let’s use Instagram for example. Many of my friends are business owners. When they have a new product coming out I post it for them on my page. Everyone in my network now knows who they are. However, you can do this with strangers and celebrities as well. I did this with a celebrity a few weeks ago by posting their products. Although they didn’t return the favor by posting my products they still went and “liked” the picture. Instagram will show you what is being liked by the people you are following. Many people saw that celebrity like my picture and started following me. Over time, those new followers will become my customers all because of one post.

#3. Better Together

Remember how I told you in the beginning that two are better than one? This is important when holding events as well. The name Oprah will sell out an event and shut down city blocks for miles. However, you don’t have to be Oprah to shut it down! You can be your glorious self and just ask for help. If you are doing business in your city and want to hold an event or launch then contact a few other business owners in your area. You can combine your network and their network to reach a wider audience and make a greater impact. Be sure to set up a vendor table to sell both of your products during the event

#4. Intro Time

Your friend may have a friend that can help you get to your next level. Just ask. Contact your friend and ask them if they are willing to introduce you to the person. If they know have character coupled with a business vision in mind, they will not hesitate to help you. Offer to take everyone to lunch or dinner for the introduction.
Always remember that no one can get to the top alone. You need others and they need you as well. Utilize these steps to cross promote your brands. There is enough out there for all of us to win big in business! Start using your resources today. Cheers to your continued success!
