Don’t Compare Your Open Call to their Grand Finale By Shamieka Dean
I believe this has happened to every entrepreneur at some point
in their career. The bad habit of unhealthy comparisons. In a world where so
many people are shooting for first place, it’s easy to compare yourself to others. Comparing yourself to others
causes you to devalue yourself. Comparison will quickly rob you of the
confidence you need to achieve your dreams by comparing your journey to those
around you. Your journey is unique to your talents, gifts and abilities.
One of the things I do as a relationship coach is help women
prepare for marriage. One of the questions I ask them is “Are you prepared for
what you’re praying for?” I
ask this question because I want them to really be able to identify any fears,
insecurities, strongholds, or hindrances that will prevent them from getting
married or help them to end up in divorce court. What I’ve learned is that God has a time for
everything. The only thing that delays the promise is when we are not prepared
for what we are praying for.
We often hear the term “Overnight Success” which gives the false
interpretation that this person woke up one day and became a household name.
The truth is these people have been behind the scenes working hard, grinding,
pushing past fears, haters, and doubters to make their dream a reality. On
their journey, they discover their strengths and weaknesses. They see what will
bring them success or failure. They learn the most about themselves in the
process. There are times in our lives where we must be hidden for preparation.
The preparation process is to help you handle the weight of the success you are
believing God for. It’s not
as difficult to achieve success as it is to remain successful.
You are GOOD enough for what God has called you to do. You are
the only one with your fingerprint which means no one can do you the way that
you can. The doors that were closed in the past were only God’s protection. Stay focused on your
assignment. Put in the work that’s
going to get you to the top. Learn what you need to learn to sustain your
success. There is a time for everything and anything that’s released prematurely has defects. When
your appointed time comes, nothing or no one will be able to stop you. You will
not only become successful, but you will forever be prosperous.
