*********************************************

What were some obstacles that you faced in the beginning process of starting your business or career? Business intelligence and access to capital were the biggest obstacles.  We had to bootstrap and fund the beginning stages of the business ourselves. We started off slow, but through persistence and hard work, we were able to leverage our resources and grow.

What inspired you to break into your industry? With over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry and a love for fashion, the opportunity to start a medical uniform company was very appealing. The psychology behind what we wear is pretty fascinating and studies show clothing impacts how you feel and perform. Healthcare professionals have been through so much over the past few years. I wanted to give back to a profession that gives so much to others by helping them look and feel their best while at work.

How do you balance your personal and professional life, or have you been able to find a balance? I continue to find ways to balance the ups and downs of life through meditation and conscious awareness.  Jim Rohn said it best, “when you are at work, work. When you play, play. Don’t mix the two”. I also block time, which helps me to intentionally accomplish more each day.

What is an inspirational quote that you live by? I have many quotes, one day I will highlight them all in a book. During this season of growth in my life, I live by the words “get comfortable being uncomfortable” and “do something that makes you uncomfortable every day”.

Who were some influential people or mentors that helped or encouraged you along the way? I knew starting my own business would be a challenge, so I dedicated time, and resources and found a business coach. He has been there since day one and continues to be my biggest advocate and support system. It’s important to surround yourself with people who understand the entrepreneur's language and experiences.

What are your "must-haves" to keep your career or business going strong? It is imperative that I have a good support system, access to capital and continue learning and growing as an entrepreneur.

What is your definition of a BOSS? Someone who does not see obstacles, only opportunities.
