We Are Inspired By This BOSS: Zina Pierre

 
Zina Pierre
Zina C. Pierre is the founder and CEO of the Washington Linkage Group. Ms. Pierre is a noted speaker, author, public policy expert and advocate for women's issues. She served eight years in the Clinton Administration with her last commissioned officer position as Special Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs. In that role Ms. Pierre served as President Bill Clintons' liaison to America's mayors and county officials in the Executive Office of the President.

Prior to her position in the White House, Ms. Pierre served as Director for the President's Welfare to Work Initiative for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). There she launched a successful effort in creating public-private partnerships with local governments and the small business community to hire more than 200,000 former welfare recipients. Before SBA, she held the position of Director of Communications for the U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau where she developed public relations strategies to help educate women on their workplace rights. 

Pierre's commitment to women's empowerment has afforded her opportunities to speak to diverse audiences globally. Ms. Pierre has also served on several national and local boards.

Ms. Pierre's honors:

  • Inducted into the Black History Makers Hall of Fame
  • First African-American to win the democratic primary for Mayor of Annapolis
  • Bestowed by the Secretary of State as a Goodwill Ambassador
  • Listed in Who's Who in the World," "Who's Who in Business" and the Council for Excellence in Government. 
  • Recipient of the numerous awards including, but not limited to: 
    • "Outstanding Government Official of the Year" by the Minority Business Suppliers
    • NAACP "National Service Award" 
    • Delta Sigma Theta "Woman of Fortitude" Award for Political Involvement 
    • 3x recipient of former Vice President Gore's "Heroes of Reinvention" Award
She is a graduate of the Catholic University of America with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and is presently studying for her LSAT with hopes of Georgetown Law School in the Fall 2011.

  1. If you don't know Zina Pierre Google her. This woman is beyoond a BOSS and has one of the most successful companies the Washington LInkage Group and is dedicated to women empowerment.
