What were some obstacles that you faced in the beginning process of starting your business or career? In the beginning, it was hard to find the right resources to establish or fine-tune what I wanted to focus on due to the lack of tools or resources in my region or the proper channels to go through to develop my business. Now with so many opportunities, business programs, and social media, it has allowed me to network, attend events, and partner with other business professionals which are now known to be influencers, SMM, marketing experts, etc to attend to the needs of my business pursues and career path.

What inspired you to break into your industry? I started in a summer institute as a junior in high school when I had the opportunity to pick up my first video camera. Prior to graduating I became a Youth Producer for SCOOP, PBC which led to an internship with a local Detroit radio station, WDTR as a Program Assistant and Production Assistant/Producer with The City of Detroit before I began college.

How do you balance your personal and professional life, or have you been able to find a balance? Keeping a planner is a must for me!! That way I can schedule my business appointments, have some free time, and plan for fun activities, so I’m able to also take out some personal time for myself when needed each week.

What is an inspirational quote that you live by? I am abundant in every area of my life.

Who were some influential people or mentors that helped or encouraged you along the way?
When I was full-time in media, the mentors I sought guidance from were Fashion Designer, Misa Hylton and Co-President of The Academy & Co-Founder of WEEN, Valeisha Butterfield Jones. Since my career and business shifted some, my peers have helped me a ton. Owner of Creatively Flawless, Meagan Ward and Execution Coach, Mentor, Public Speaker, and Owner of 1% Better, Keyon Clinton.

What are your "must-haves" to keep your career or business going strong? Whiteboard or To-do-List, regular check-in calls with my mentor/coach, business partner, or financial advisor.

What is your definition of a BOSS? A combination of a go-getter, persistent, and organized business leader or professional that delivers great quality to service clients, impacts the community, speaks fluently and dynamic in their role and to its team.
