What were some obstacles that you faced in the beginning process of starting your business or career? Honestly, confidence. After only 15 years in the industry, I wasn’t sure I could do it successfully. With no formal education as well as not being certified. All I had was my passion for the industry, the relationships I gained, and my eagerness to learn. Plus, not having the capital to get started really held me back, but never held me off.
What inspired you to break into your industry?
The part I enjoy the most is helping the providers. Having that one-on-one time with the provider. Learning from one another is what pushed me to create an opportunity to branch out on my own. Having that relationship with the provider gives me better insight into what they truly need to succeed. Relationship OVER Revenue is what keeps me inspired.
How do you balance your personal and professional life, or have you been able to find a balance?
My bubble is strong. I have a great support system in my family and friends, as well as my best friend/business partner, Sheritha LaStrap. We are each other’s, accountability companions. The pusher and pullers for one another and with that, it allows me to do what I love. They are all my reasons WHY!
What is an inspirational quote that you live by?
I don’t know that I have a quote that I live by. By if I had to think of one, it would be: “Can’t Stop. Won’t Stop.” I am not someone that gives up on the things I desire. I believe in chasing one’s dreams.
Who were some influential people or mentors that helped or encouraged you along the way?
There are so many influencers and mentors to name, but it’s every provider, manager, CEO, front office, the clinical person I’ve had the pleasure of encountering. It’s my family and friends who believed in me and encouraged me to be the Boss I was meant to be. Most of all It’s my faith in God for allowing me to take those steps to success, every day.
What are your "must-haves" to keep your career or business going strong?
My “restart” button. I need time to decompress, so I stay sharp for ME, my business as well as my family.
What is your definition of a BOSS?
My definition of a BOSS is someone who stands true to their desired goals. While humbling themselves to help others reach their desired goals. A BOSS pays it forward.
