Mental health is something very delicate, the mind is a very powerful tool and we must protect it at all costs. It’s easier said than done!

In life, we have many challenges that affect our mental health.

Some people are stronger mentally than others, but others can’t handle the pressure and stress, which causes them to have a mental breakdown.

Growing up I watched a drug prevention commercial that emphasized “The mind is a terrible thing to waste” This is meant literally. Abusing drugs to resolve your mental health can lead to a darker place.

Robin Williams suffered from depression and died by suicide. One of his quotes touched me deeply and will forever be in the back of my mind. “ If you’re that depressed, reach out to someone. And remember, suicide is a permanent solution, to a temporary problem” - Robin Williams -

How to care when encountering mental health issues?

Exercising and staying physically active are key to managing mental health issues. Listening to positive and influential motivational speakers lends a hand, to having a positive outlook on life. Staying in tune with feelings and the feelings of others is powerful.

Mental health issues go beyond some people’s control. Surrounding yourself with positive individuals is essential to maintaining a healthy mental state.

During Oprah’s 2020 Vision Tour Lady Gaga joined Oprah Winfrey on stage and openly and honestly had a conversation about mental health and self-care. Oprah Winfrey has also spoken openly about managing mental health. “Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.”― Oprah Winfrey

“I take medication every day for mental illness and depression and don't feel bad about it.” -Lady Gaga-

Lady Gaga’s quote is impactful because many individuals, see medication for mental health as taboo. It’s important that people get the help they required.

In conclusion, creating a routine to minimize mental health issues is pertinent. Determining the mental state and self-caring is imperative to maintain a mentally balanced lifestyle.
