Your Goldmine Is Bigger Than You Think — But Accountability Is What Unlocks It By Monique Caradine-Kitchens

Twenty-twenty-six is not the year for you to go after your dreams alone. You’re going to need accountability.

Recently, I was talking with a woman who was, what I consider, a walking goldmine.

She had deep professional experience. People trusted her. She was the person friends and colleagues called when they needed advice. She could teach, speak, and explain complicated ideas in a way that made people feel empowered.

In other words, she had a lot going for her.

But when we started talking about her business, something interesting showed up. All of those strengths were sitting in separate buckets. A little consulting here. A workshop idea over there. A few people asking her for help informally.

Plenty of value but very little structure.

At one point, she laughed and said, “I feel like I’m sitting on something valuable, but I don’t know how to organize it.”

That’s when I told her, “You’re sitting on a goldmine.”

And honestly, I see this all the time with smart, capable women. Especially those of us in the second half of our careers.

We have experience, solid networks and we have insight people will absolutely pay for.

But instead of building around that value intentionally, we often treat each opportunity as a one-off. A speaking engagement here. A project there. A favor for someone who asks for help.

The truth is, most women don’t have an idea problem. We have a structure problem.

Your goldmine isn’t just your talent. It’s the way your skills, stories, knowledge, and relationships can work together when they’re connected inside a clear ecosystem.

Maybe your speaking leads people to your coaching. Your podcast could be the thing that builds trust that leads to consulting opportunities. Maybe your workshops turn into digital products.

When those pieces start working together, something powerful happens. Your business stops feeling like scattered activity and starts feeling like momentum.

But here’s the part that took me a long time to understand myself. Having a goldmine of value doesn’t automatically mean you’ll build a thriving business from it. That’s where accountability comes in.

Because when you’re building something on your own, it’s very easy to delay the uncomfortable decisions. The ones that actually move things forward.

Decisions like:

  • Clarifying your offer.

  • Raising your prices.

  • Choosing a direction and sticking with it long enough to see result

When no one else is holding the bigger picture with you, those decisions can get pushed down the road again and again.

Accountability changes that. The simple act of having someone outside of your own head asking, “What are you building, and what’s the next step,” is key.

Sometimes that looks like a coach, other times it’s a community. Sometimes it’s putting yourself in rooms where people are serious about growth.

The point is, your goldmine deserves more than occasional attention when you have time. It deserves intention, structure, and support.

Talent opens the door, but accountability is often what helps women finally step into the full value of what they already have.

Chances are, if you made it this far into the article, your goldmine is bigger than you think. So let me ask you again. Who is holding YOU accountable? I did a short video about this on my Instagram. You can watch it and leave your thoughts here.
