How to Stay Creative When Resources Are Low… But Your Faith Is High by Niehla O.

Niehla O. spent over 20 years in the fashion and beauty industry, but decided to pivot into an industry that can make people look good on the inside. After a chance encounter with a tasty green hummus blend, a late-night craving led her to begin mixing unique hummus flavors of her own. Her goal is to continue to spread love and hummus throughout our community.

There comes a moment in every entrepreneur’s journey when things super feel tight.

The sales slow down.

The opportunities seem scarce.

The numbers don’t quite match the vision.

This is a very real season for most business owners, and if you’re not careful, fear will try to get louder than your faith.

But let me remind you of something, just because your resources are low doesn’t mean your ability to create is.

Scarcity Can Spark Strategy!

When resources are limited, creativity becomes your greatest asset.

You start to look at what you do have differently:

• That one product becomes five new offerings

• That small audience becomes a loyal community

• That single opportunity becomes a doorway to many

You become more intentional. More innovative. More resourceful. Not because you want to—but because you have to. And that’s where the magic happens!

1) God Gives Wisdom for the Season You’re In!

Faith isn’t just about believing, it’s about listening.  When things feel uncertain, God often slows you down so you can hear Him more clearly.

He’ll give you ideas that don’t come from a business book.

Strategies that don’t look like everyone else’s.  Direction that requires trust, not logic. That’s divine wisdom. And sometimes, the very season that feels like a lack is actually a setup for clarity, discipline, and alignment.

2) What Looks Like “Not Enough” Is Still More Than Enough.

It may not look like much. But what you have right now is still usable.  That kitchen, that skill, that idea, that connection

It’s all seed.  And when you place it in God’s hands, He knows how to multiply it. You don’t need everything to start. You don’t need everything to grow.

You just need to be faithful with what’s in front of you.

3) Don’t Let Fear Make You Freeze

Let’s be real—these seasons can feel scary. You might question everything:

“Am I doing the right thing?”

“Should I keep going?”

“Is this going to work?”

But fear is not your leader—faith is.  Even when it looks uncertain, God is still in control. And nothing about your journey has caught Him by surprise.

  • Create Anyway.
  • Post anyway.
  • Reach out anyway.
  • Launch anyway.
  • Try anyway.

Because creativity in hard seasons isn’t about perfection—it’s about movement.  And every step you take in faith builds momentum.

4) Final Thought: This Season Is Not Your Ending

This is not the season to give up; this is the season to get stretched. Where you learn how to build without excess.  Where you discover how powerful you really are.  Where your faith deepens in a way that success alone could never teach.

So don’t despise the “low” moments.  Because with God, even this season is working for you.

And what feels like a slump today…

It may very well be the foundation of your next level.

With flavor and favor,

Niehla O.
