Choose Your Company and Friends Wisely By Dr. Kamala L. Uzzell

The people with whom you choose to spend your time are a reflection of you.  As the saying goes -  “Birds of a feather flock together.”  This may or may not be true in all relationships, but what IS true is that many people believe it.  Value the brand that you have created for yourself.  Value the work that you have put into making a good name for yourself in personal and professional circles.  Don’t choose friends who will destroy your hard work.  Choose friends who will lift you up and motivate you to be the best you that you can be!

Surround yourself with people who are doing things and going places.  Those with no goals will only hold you back and bring you down with them.  Recognize the difference between assets and liabilities (as bad as that might sound) when it comes to friends and associates.  Are they improving your life or destroying your brand?  Are they adding some form of value to your life or are they taking away and draining the joy and promise from it?

Remember – the people who you are around can either lift you up or drag you down.  They can destroy everything that you've spent so much time building.  Who deserves to be in your circle? It’s your choice.  Choose wisely.
