What are you bringing to the Table? by Tammy P. Moore

The holiday season is upon us! My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, I love the food, fun, and fellowship and I love to cook (and eat)!  We can learn a lot about how to deal with life situations as we prepare for Thanksgiving dinner with our families. Whether you prepare the entire meal or you’re responsible for bringing a dish, your participation is needed to complete the meal.  One of my specialties is potato salad although I normally prepare the entire Thanksgiving dinner, my family loves this dish.
To get the bomb potato salad there’s a lot of things that need to come together.  First, you must peel the potatoes, then you must cut them up, then you must boil them, let them cool and then mix up your ingredients to get the flavor just right.
Such is your life.  If I were to talk to each of you individually I’m sure each one of you has a testimony about self-discovery.  In life I’m sure at times, things have gotten too hot to handle, you’ve been cut and The holiday season is upon us! In life I’m sure at times, things have gotten too hot to handle, you’ve been cut and bruised, and I know some of you have been boiling mad! But when you look back on those situations, they were one of two things, a lesson or a blessing.  There was a purpose in the pain. True self-discovery only comes when you crack the surface and peel back the layers of you. Seeing a potato in the veggie section of Walmart is just that, a potato. It must leave the farm stand to become great and to earn a spot at the Thanksgiving table.
If you want to attach good things to your life it starts with you.  I invite you to do some peeling if you will and begin to find your purpose, just like the potato!
Whether you’re the sides dishes at Thanksgiving dinner or the main attraction. The meal is not complete without you! So, make sure you’re bringing the best version of you to the table of life!
