It’s More Than A Logo By:Nicole Roberts Jones

A brand is more than a logo; it is the fingerprint, the pulse, the moniker of your company. It is an impression that exists in your customers’ minds created by what you stand for, how you make them feel and how you serve them.  But did you know that you could actually influence this impression by defining your brand identity by offering what you do as a signature system.  As an entrepreneur, whether you are one year in to your business or have been open for 10, I am sure you have discovered that most clients come to you looking to buy a solution to their problems, wants or needs.   They come looking to get to a result, so, rather than trying to sell your one on one coaching program, webinar or some other service, if you packaged all the ways you work with your clients into a signature system your clients will find a easier way to say yes to work with you.  

How you may ask?  

A signature system is a step-by-step method that helps foster trust in your work because your potential clients can more easily see how working with you gets them to a predictable result.  In essence, when you create a signature system you create a higher perceived value on how something is accomplished as opposed to selling an individual service that does not clearing define a beginning, middle or end. Ultimately for you, creating signature systems makes doing business much easier because you have a simple way of describing what you do, and from it, you can develop multiple streams of income. How can you create this for yourself? 

Here are the 5 steps that will help you create your own signature system:

1. What’s The Result? As Stephen Covey says, “Begin with the end in mind”, what is the result or outcome your client gets from working with you? When they work with you, what will they achieve?  What will be their outcome? If you don't know, reach out to at least 5 clients and ask. It’s important to understand where your clients land after they have worked with you.  

2. Tease It Out. Now that you know the end result, think about the process you go through when you work with clients or customers to get them to that result. You have probably used the same tools and techniques time and time again, which means you have created a way of working with your clients that is easily duplicatable and translated into a system.  The first step toward figuring this out is to write out all the steps that you take a client through when you work with them.

3. Define the Steps. Now look at the outline you created from your answer in question #2, what you have created are the steps you take.  Next take that outline and define your approach or method into a set number of steps. Typically, 5-10 steps is most effective, as anything less can seem to broad to work through and anything more can be overwhelming.  So if you have more, look at what you can combine, if you have less look at if you actually have 2 steps in one.   For all my meat eaters, you want to make it meaty and yet cut away the fat at the same time. 

4. Give it a Captivating Name. The name of your signature system will become your brand identity.  My Find Your Fierce Formula has caught on so much that many times when I walk into a speaking event, people come up to me and say hello “Fierce Lady.” Your signature system name should capture the attention of your target audience and if possible include the result your clients will get to by working with you. You want your clients to be able to find what they want & need in your Signature. 

5. Create Multiple Revenue Streams. Once you've defined your steps, you have created your signature system.  Now here’s the exciting part, the whole system could be one product or program however you can also create multiple revenue streams based on your steps, here are a few examples;

  • Each step can become it’s own conversation by itself as a stand alone program.  
  •  You can also create various tiers of programming using a combination of 2 or 3 of the steps as a lower price point product that could get a potential client a jump-start toward a longer-term program. One program becomes more of a deep dive then the next.Depending on the various results your clients seeks would speak to how you break down the various levels and steps within each level.  
  • Each step could be it’s own stand alone workshop or a weekend retreat experience where you move participants from step to step.
  •  Each step can become a chapter in a book I could go on, the possibilities are endless!

By using a signature system this becomes the winning equation to truly move your brand beyond a logo and into a viable business. It will support you in serving more people with your expertise, and enable you to create multiple revenue streams on your way to creating a bankable business.

Three Power Strategies to Help You Create the Success You Desire By: Priscilla Williams

We all desire to create, build and be successful. However, there are so many people who don’t have a clue how to unleash the overflow of success in their lives. Success is not having a certain amount of money or fame, but success is all about undertaking and achieving the goals you set for yourself. I remember going through a season in my life where everything that could go wrong was. I had so much doubts and fears that I didn’t have a clue about how I would make it. I remember feeling hopeless and insecure, because I had so many failure in my life that I didn’t know to move forward. There were some key success strategies that help me overcome my fears and moved me toward creating massive breakthroughs.Here are a few of those game changing strategies you can begin to use immediately to move you  forward. 

1. Know what it is you want. This may sound simple, but there are so many people who don’t have an idea of what it is they want out of their life. When I began to really think about what I wanted to accomplish in my life, this is when things became clear for me. If you don’t know what it is you want in your life, how will you know what to work towards? There are so many people drained doing busy work, but they are running fast on a treadmill going nowhere. Because they have not clearly mapped out where they want to be. This can be draining mentally, and physically. When you sit down and create a road map for what you want to accomplish and add some action steps behind it, you will begin to see results. 

2. Keep the right circle of influence around you. This is really important, because you are only as strong as the company you keep. If you want to stay motivated and encouraged you have to keep individuals who are like minded in your mist. You must surround yourself with those who want to see you succeed and grow. You cannot climb this ladder of success on our own. You will always have to have a support system or network to help you grow

3. The power of personal development. Personal development and self-investment is a major key strategies. You can’t go very far without investing in your future. In order to create some major shifts in your money, career and business you must be willing to invest in YOU! Most Individuals who have acquired major success, invest in some form of coaching. Because they understand the value of self-investment and the momentum it can create. 

If you want to create the success you desire in your life, you must be willing to do something different. If what you’re currently doing isn’t working, then I would suggest it’s time to do something new. Greatness is inside of you and what you desire can happen if you put some action to it. Faith without works is dead, and if you want to move to the next level in your life then you must be willing to put in the work. Success is yours if you want it, the question is how bad do you want it?

Somebody…Anybody…Help me be a Better Parent! By: Latoyia Dennis

As with almost all of my preconceived notions….I was wrong about parenting too.  I was the absolute best parent, until I became one.  I learned very quickly, what you say is not nearly as important as what you do. And no matter how hard you try, you will never be a perfect parent. 

I consider parenting the most important definitely not the easiest job.  It’s hard…even scary at times. When you’re dealing with your own insecurities, had a rough day, and now you are home having to dig deep to find constructive words but you aren’t feeling very positive. Or you know the times when you wish that you could click your heels and disappear for just 10 minutes of peace and quiet?

The trick is to relax.  Those are the moments when your response are the most critical. Those on the spot parenting moments will help your child more than you know.  Good parenting happens in real time, on the spot, and in the moment. You are teaching your child with your temperament and posture.  He/she may be young but they are paying attention.  Elizabeth Pantley, author of The No-Cry Discipline Solution: Gentle Ways to Encourage Good Behavior Without Whining, Tantrums & Tears (McGraw-Hill) said, "From how you handle stress to how you celebrate success to how you greet a neighbor on the street, your baby is observing you and finding out how to respond in various situations."  

Another acceptable response option is….don’t do anything.  Allow them act on their own thoughts until you get yourself together.  Put a few toys in the floor, paint supplies on the table, or a book or two for them to read. "Their identities emerge when they are left to their own devices”, says psychologist Michael Gurian. Don’t be afraid to take time to collect yourself in order to respond in the most positive manner possible. Your child will be engaged while you “woosaa” a moment.  

Being a better parent is about trusting yourself.  Trust yourself and your good intentions toward your children. Don’t allow guilt to plague you because you are experiencing being human.  There’s no magic formula to parenting, you can’t wave your magic wand and create a perfect home, perfect children or perfect world.  Create a relationship with your children, do your best at being an example, communicate gently with authority, and love them with your whole heart….and you will be just fine, and more importantly so will they.

Busy people workout too: 5 Tips to stay fit and productive By: Caprice O'Bryant

Have you ever looked up and realized you haven’t exercised or picked up an apple in weeks? Do you find yourself answering everything with “I don’t have time”? Omg me too!But truth is: we do have time. We have thesame 24 hours as all the professional powerhouses with the great bodies that we admire. It’s easy to say well they don’t have a 3 year old, or they aren’t in school full time, or they live right across from the gym. Those are called EXCUSES! Let them go. Because think about it, we make time for what we truly want! So do you truly desire to live a healthy lifestyle?Do you truly desire to fit in that dress you bought 6 months ago? Exercise is not easy, but neither is being overweight. Choose your struggle. Below are 5 tips to help you eliminate you excuse and begin a life towards a healthier, happier you!

1. Early bird gets the worm! Wake up early.  If you already get up at the crack of the dawn then it sounds like you need to set that alarm back another 30 minutes. I’m not telling you to run a 10k before work every morning. But I am saying that exercise is the absolute best way to start your day right after prayer. Morning workouts have been proven to increase your focus throughout the day. *Don’t forget to drink at least 8-16 oz of water upon 

 2. You don’t need to be in the gym for 2 hours!!!! Did you know that 20 minutes of TABATA can speed up your metabolism and help your body burn more fat? Tabata: performing one exercise at a time for 8 rounds on a 20/10 split. blast: Stretch well first. Ice skaters, squats, v ups, mountain climbers, forearm 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest. TRY THIS 20 min total body plank. No equipment needed. Perfect for early risers. 

3. Include your family. Whether you’re going to bring the kids or make it a date, including loved ones is a great way to keep you accountable. If you don’t have a sitter, take the kids for a walk, find a fitness center with a daycare, go always choosing dinner. Make a healthy meal at home then go bowling or find a groupon for a trampoline park, just stay active!! Excuses don’t burn roller-skating, bike riding, etc. Switch up your family outings, instead of 

4. Plan ahead! You are always stopping at Panera and Chipotle because you never prep your meals. That’s $10 a day, probably 3-4x a week. Do you know what I can do with $40 at a grocery store??!! You complain that healthy food is too expensive but have never tried turkey bacon wrapped asparagus or egg muffins! Listen, pick a day during the week (Sunday for me) where you have spinach gives you strength, salmon builds muscle, grapefruit burns fat, etc. Get your Tupperware containers from Walmart, get some sandwich bags for your fruit like grapes and apple slices, don’t forget a huge water bottle and you’re good to go! Become a meal prep pro and be the inspiration for your 2 hours set aside to cook your meals for the week. Think of food as fuel: 

5. Commercial break workouts: You will schedule time to watch Empire, Scandal and all of your shows but still haven’t penciled in your workouts! Priorities people!! You need to exercise like your life depends on it, because it does. So I have a solution! Every commercial break you need to be doing some form of physical exercise. Each break is about five minutes right? 50 jumping jacks, 20 triceps dips, 15 lunges, 50 Russian twists. Your next physical your doctor will be so impressed at how well you’re doing that he will ask your secret. Just say you got bodied by.
