Historically, Jacqueline grew up extremely poor in the lower east side of Detroit known as the “Black Bottom”. Due to various health challenges, beginning as far back as 1997, she knew at age 50, she had to transform her personal health. Jacqueline often used a quote by Madame C.J. Walker “Don’t sit down and wait for opportunities to come. Get up and make them happen for you”. I used to think of aging as a period of decline,” but after reading many motivational and inspirational quotes from other entrepreneurs who started their businesses in their later years, Jacqueline decided to go for it. However, the pressure to succeed in their chosen industry is always there, for solopreneurs and entrepreneurs al...

There are 371 million people in the world diagnosed with diabetes.  Consistent with this disease are extremely dry feet, hands, and body. After trying many products on the market, I made a decision to start producing my own organic products. When I decided to start a business in 2015, I had very little experience and knowledge of what’s required to start a successful business.  As a Solopreneur there were several obstacles to overcome in starting a new business: 1. Could not secure a loan from the bank so I had to bootstrap and I am still bootstrapping; 2. Limited or no staff/volunteers, 3. Limited knowledge regarding building a mentoring team/subject...

After trying many over-the-counter products, and being prescribed medications/treatments by many physicians, Jacqueline decided to create an organic product line to help improve her health issues.                     What were some obstacles that you faced in the beginning process of starting your business or career?  As a Solopreneur there were several obstacles to overcome in starting a new business but I will only mention four: Bootstrapping the business for longer than I anticipated, a lack of knowledge about what it takes to operate a business on a daily basis with limited resources, lack of a product production plan and a lack of knowledge of all the requirements needed to get products on the shelf at major retailers.   What inspired yo...
